Saint-Pierre

Gateway to the Island

Saint-Pierre is the most populous village on Île d’Orléans, with around 2,000 inhabitants. Saint-Pierre combines the proximity of Quebec City with the charm of the countryside. From the bridge, as you approach the island, the flats offer a beautiful rectilinear panorama which announces the quality of the island landscapes. Unique location, Saint-Pierre has two churches side by side, the first built in 1717 and the other in 1954.

Since Saint-Pierre is the gateway to Île d’Orléans, there is a tourist information office and convenience stores. Also, cultural places like Espace Félix-Leclerc and Nouveau Théâtre de l’Île d’Orléans subscribe to the entertainment offer. The northern slope of the island is conducive to the cultivation of grapes, apples and berries, several food companies are located there including vineyards, orchards and cider, a blackcurrant liqueur, picking small fruit and more.
