The maritime Museum is an institution accredited by the Ministry of Culture of and Communications of Québec that recounts the rich history of wooden shipbuilding on Île d’Orléans. The visit takes place in two buildings and continues on a vast outdoor site with many attractions to see. Come visit the picturesque Godbout rowboat shop dating from 1837 and containing a collection of heritage tools as well as the interpretation center of the former Shipyard of Saint-Laurent dating from 1908. You can then enjoy the outdoor site with, among other things, a visit of the tug boat R.F. Grant dating from 1934 and the Forest of rails. We offer 3 types of visits on the interpretation of the maritime heritage of Île d’Orléans: guided, audioguided and self-guided. Come visit our site and its breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River!
